I. In the first design, the letters are inside the dj's record, and in the final, the words are on the outside.

II. In the first design, the words are hard to see, and if the logo is shrinked, it would be very hard to read. And anyway, in the first the words are not the first thing you see. The second is not only scalable, it is better.
